From 2014 and every summer, top female and male teams in the 40+, 45+, 55+, and 60+ age groups compete in a world class event of the highest standards to win the title of World Veteran Volleyball Champion.

Each country has the ability to participate in the tournament with only one representative group per gender per age category. The roster of each group has a maximum number of athletes 15.
